False nails....whats the difference?

I have been trying to grow my nails for what seems like forever and its just not happening!! They flake and just split and its soooo annoying!]





So i am going to give false ones a go....i am going to get them done properly and don't mind spending a fair amount of money but i do not have a clue which ones are best can anyone help me?

IMPORTANT: i am an beauty theripist. acrylics have been band in 17 countrys. the acrylic soaks through to the nail bed then in to the blood system. stay away. gel are brillinant i have had mine on for 3 yrs i work with horses as well and never break. sculpture gels are the better ones where tip gels have to be glued on and if they break the whole tip comes of where sculpture a small amount will chip instead of losing the whole nail. have a look for lcn gel nails there one of the best. have a look at stanfordspalagoon.co.ukFalse nails....whats the difference?
Gel nails supposably let your nails ';breath'; more than acrylics, but you must keep in mind that either way there will be some damage done to your nails no matter what kind you get. Also gel nails do not stay on as well as acrylic nails, so that is also something to keep in mind, I really don't recommend getting gel nails just from personal experience mine stayed on for about a week and a half and fell off after I took a bath! So I hope that helps!

Ok really research your local salons.


You want to got to a salon that has the techs certificates on display. Can communicate clearly and will willingly answer any questions you may have. They should also do a consultation with you, and will fill out a client card. Check their sanitation procedures make sure that they clean and sanitise all their implements after each client. I would recommend ringing a nail supplier like CND and asking them where the nearest Master Technician is in your area. Gels and acrylics are one in the same they are all from the acrylic family.








As to the uninformed poster who said that acrylic is banned in 17 countries..... get your facts right. It is MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) that is banned not acrylic. And it is only banned for use in the nail industry.
one member of my family had the same problem as you, her nails just would not grow. so she did go for the fake nails. they looked really nice and she had them done professionally. they stayed one for weeks. although i have absolutely no problem growing my nails at all. they can grow really long in like 3 weeks, so i guess I'm lucky. but i did go for fake nails one time (just to try them out) and they turned out really nice. i have no idea what gel nails are, never heard of them. acrylics don't help your nails to well cause they are on for so long they do mess up your nails. try fake and if u get them done professionally then they are probably gonna be really nice.

i duno what gel ones are like but i would say dont go for acryllic because they may look nice at first but they grow out and then you have to have them removed, and your nails underneath are absolutely wrecked. i would say go for a manicure and have your own nails painted there and then its a lot better.
Acrylic ruins your nails! As you said that your original nails flake and


split i wouldn't recommend it, they would only make your nails weaker. Gel nails look more natural and will feel more like your own. They build up your own nail, instead of sticking the white bit at the end.
i would try using the nail polish that helps ur nails grow


i don't use it but my gramma does nd she says it helps a lot


i know someone who used fake nails and the damage was bad.
to help with your chipped nails you can get special nail polish to stop chipping . And about acrylics or gel i have tried both and id definatly reccomend acrylics they stay on for much longer and look better as well lol
Acrylics are best they last longer and don't break as easily as gels..



Acrylics Tips are the best %26amp; they stay on better.
