Are false nails a good option?

Hi girls, I would like to have medium sized nails but they start breaking if i let them grow a little bit. I would like to try false nails but i never tried it before so dont know much about it lol

Is it very common for girls to wear false nails? does it look too fake? can you use any nail polish on them? also how do you remove them? thank you!!Are false nails a good option?
No from exprience I heard they ruin your real nails when you remove them and even the gel kind can really damage your real nails. best thing to do is keep them clean, groomed, and use some sally hansen nail strengtener or some miracle nail it will grow your real nails to be nice and strong without the fake stuff. good luck. Are false nails a good option?
I agree with the last person iduset, or something like that. Stay away from fake unless you just have to. Try to supplement your diet, with Knox gel for nails, and hair/nail vitamins, and then there are a whole host of great products out there that will help keep your nails in tip top shape.
well get the more natural looking ones and don't make them too long. you can tell they're fake but they look nice and i like them. you can pull them off after a few weeks or if you saok them in hot water. i wouldn't recommend polishing them.
NOOOOO!!!!! don't do it! trust me! fake nails will totally ruin your nails! they damage your natural nail bed so bad, they will never look the same and will always be weak
Hello, I am a cosmetologist. I read some of the answers already there and they are correct. You can use a nail strengthener or get a silk wrap. Acrylic nails will only ruin your natural nail if they are applied or removed incorrectly. The best way to remove them is in an acetone solution. You can go to a nail salon and have them removed or go to walmart and purchase it yourself. Another option is to have acrylic applied to your natural nail WITHOUT putting on a fake nail. This is a great strenghtener also. If you can't find anyone in your area that does silk nails, try to find someone who will do that. If you are looking for a cheaper option, you can use ridge filler and top coat. That strengthens the nails and gives them a healthy shine. One more thing, nail polish adheres to acrylic better than it does to a natural nail, so your polish will last longer. I hope this helps!
I agree with DAS, Go natural, it looks cuter and sexier, im going through the same problem myself, they grow medium sized and they chip from the corners and i have this urge to yank it off, im growing them again but im trying to take care of them with products and vitamins, but as of now im using this oil treatment called RECONSTRUX and CALCIUM NAIL BUILDER from Sally's, and believe me im dyeing to have manicure already, but i have to wait. Hope this works! I also agree with divasist about the acrylic on top of you natural nail, a friend of mine did that and looks great!
Thre is white tip nails that you go put on at a salon. Those dont look too natural but it doesn't look weird its very common for girls to wear them. There is certain salons that have a clearer nail that almost looks natural you can get the tip a different color or you can get them all one color. It all depends on what you want. If you want the white tip (a lot of girls do the white tip) go to a salon and ask for white tip.If you want the other one stell them what color you want them or the tip.

They all look cute I 've done it atleast 7 times.

Good luck:)
NO! don't do it the definatley look way to fake. My mom is a doctor and she had this patient that had false nails and she had to get her fingernails removed because they infect your actual nails!! how gross would that be?
i would recommend a silk wrap. fake nails damage your nail bed,and you can also get funguis.
yes they do damge ur nails but all fake nails do. but then again when u get fake nails and have them on for like 3 weeks ur real nails grow and then when the fake once come of u just have to take time with ur real nails, soak them, polish them and put a coat of light nail polish on them so that they are strong and wont break. then after a week or 2 they will go back to being regular. always works for me when i get my nails done =] hopes this helps
