False nails ruin your real nails but look good. my real nails are weak and look bad. what should i do?

firstly stop wearing false nails. your real nails may not look as good, but you can make then look healthy an nice without falsies. Take some vitamins supplements and invest some money in nail moisturisers and nail strengthening polishes. It may take a few months but it will be worth it in the long run. Anyway false nails look nice but they look false and they won't be yours. You will feel more proud when yu have lovely natural nailsFalse nails ruin your real nails but look good. my real nails are weak and look bad. what should i do?
Keep them trimmed short but keep them pretty and painted. Take care of your cuticles. Get manicures at a spa (not those quickie asian stores----yuck!) Some place that doesn't use electric files like JC Penney's Salon. Ask them for advice on how to care for your nails and buy their products.False nails ruin your real nails but look good. my real nails are weak and look bad. what should i do?
get gel nails. they look pretty and don't damage your nails as much as acrylic. they are a bit more expensive though....also, tell the person doing your nails not to sand them down to much.

if you don't want fake nails, there are vitamins that help strengthen nails.

good luck!
Try taking a supplement (Vitamins) especially for nails, use hand cream frequently and give yourself a weekly manicure, which involves soaking your nails in warmed olive oil or named nail soak. You are right false nails do ruin natural nails, just persevere you will get there in the end.
im in the same boat. I have tried for a year to grow them out, but they keep cracking, so you may as well keep getting fake ones since your real ones can't look as nice anyway.
Get false ones put on at a nail bar. The stuff supplied in kits for home use is really rough on your own nails. My nails only grow about 2 millimetres a month, and then they split and crack, and they are really thin, so I have had acrylics fitted at a salon for over 5 years now, and my hands always look good.
VITAMINS! I used to wear those evil fake nails and let me tell ya I stopped and it took like 3 years to get my nails to grow but now they are strong, eat good and take vitamins, it will work, PATIENCE
My mum used to make me eat a cube of raw jelly every day (raspberry, whatever floats your boat), before it's been diluted with hot water. I've had long, healthy nails ever since. Try it - even if it doesn't work, you'll still be eating jelly!
If you use acrilics they do ruin your nails because the nails sweat like the rest of you body, this causes fungus and rot. If you use false nails that can be polished and taken off for one or two days a week you find your own nails will be healthy
yes I wear fake nails too. you have to be careful how long and how often you wear your nails. if you wear them too long, they not only get weak, but you can get fungus growing underneath your nails that will cause your nails to stop growing.

what I usually do is wear my fake nails for about 2 or 3 weeks, and then get them taken off and leave them off for about a week or so.

by doing that it gives my nails time to get some oxygen and helps keep them strong.

a good way to strengthen your nails and to get them healthy is to rub hand creme and nail oils into the cuticles and base of your nails everytime you wash your hands. this will condition and help the area at the base of your nails that allow your nails to grow and be healthy
I recommend Burt's Bees lemon butter cuticle cream. Use on the cuticles and nails at least twice a day, especially after your use any kind of soap or detergent on your hands.

I've been using it for about 4 years and my nails never break ,chip or crack any more. It's like a miracle.
Sally Hansen makes some good products for weak, dry, brittle nails. If you use these products like you are supposed to they will strengthen your nails.

False nails will make your nails even weaker than they are now. False nails do not allow your nail beds to breath like they should. Plus the chance of nail born infections are to great.

Save your money and invest in some good nail products that will benefit you more.

I am sorry to hear that because just like you can't go back to a regular perm from a curly perm, you may not be able to go back to your natural nails after too many false applications
The collagen found in hair conditioners have worked well for growing the nails on my right hand (for guitar fingerpicking). Once they begin to grow and strengthen, frequently file them a bit lightly to keep the growth.
It is excellent to take calcium pills with a glass of fresh milk or cheese. This is good for getting beautiful hair and strong nails, as well as strong bones. It's also good to prevent osteoporosis.
Get Nail Life. It works great! It's a clear polish that you apply everyday for a week and then start over again. I have used it all year and my nails are stronger than ever!
Take vitamins for hair and nails. They work along with a balanced diet with lots of veggies and fruits. Also drink plenty of water.
First I would suggest a professional manicure at least once a week. Not in one of those ';drive thru'; places either. NAIL ENVY by OPI is a great product. Apply 2 coats the first time and one coat each day for a week. At the end of the first week, remove polish and apply again in the same manner. Within a few weeks you should see some results. You will have to be patient because your nails are weak and they need to grow out. I also suggest buying cuticle oil and using a dab on each finger rubbing it in thoroughly each night. My clients tell me that pre-natal vitamins make their nails grow faster. Stay away from any polishes that contain Tolulene or Formaldehyde as these chemicals dry out the nails and cause them to become brittle. Zoya and China Glaze polishes are excellent and have great staying power. Also use a very fine grit nail file (220 or 240) which will be a little easier on your nails.

If you want to can also apply gel to your nails which will also help with thickness. Real gel nails do not include acrylic! It is a clear thick polish like gel that is applied in 3 to 4 layers and can be cured under an ultra violet lamp. A full set can range anywhere from $25 to $65 usd.
