Does the ';let them breathe'; thing only apply to false nails like acrylic nails but not polish?

Do I have to keep my toenails polish-free once in a while to let them breathe? Or does the ';let them breathe'; thing only apply to false nails like acrylic nails? I do usually wear several layers of nail polish and I only remove the polish when my nails grow but I apply nail polish to my nails right away.Does the ';let them breathe'; thing only apply to false nails like acrylic nails but not polish?
I totally agree with Nailpro91. Nails do not need to 'breathe.' Also, I free with her opinion about 'discount' salons and their tendency to overfile your nails. Unfortunately, overfiling of the natural nail happens quite frequently in this type of salon.

To answer your question: The ';Let them breathe'; thing doesn't apply to polish, acrylics, or any other type of nail enhancement simply because nails do not have a need to 'breathe.' But, if anyone feels more comfortable with giving their nails a break from either polish, or acrylics, then by all means - do it!

Nails don't breathe. Fingernails are comprised of keratin which is dead tissue. It doesn't not breathe. Wearing polish will not hurt your nails. The only time acrylics will hurt your nails is if you go to a budget nails only salon and they trash your nails with their electric file. Stay away from those types of salons!
ugh oh yes it applies to nail polish.

you NEED to take the polish off your toes more than that because if there is polish on them almost constantly then fungus will start growing because if it.

so it definitely applies there too.
It applies to nail polish as well....yeah I do kinda the same thing as you during summer but I wait a day or two and not wear flip flops those days. Use a base coat to protect your nails
its applies to nail polish too.
